“Mary is the flower of the field from whom bloomed the precious lily of the valley.”
– St. Augustine
Today September 8, we celebrate the nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, nine months after the December 8 celebration of her Immaculate Conception. This is one of the most important celebrations in our Christian faith because her birth according to St. Augustine was “prelude to the birth of Jesus Christ”. God prepared her to become the mother of His son, Jesus Christ.
We invite everyone to join us, as we commemorate the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary and learn from her example of faith, love and service to the Lord, and as we raise our prayer to the Father through Mary for the healing of the world from this pandemic.
