Solemnity of All Souls' Day

The solemnity of All Souls’ Day (Nov. 2) is a commemoration of our departed brothers and sisters. On this day, we offer our prayers for the forgiveness of the sins of those souls in purgatory so that they may be able to join God eternally in His heavenly Kingdom. As a Catholic institution, it is one of our Seton cultures to offer prayers and candles for the souls in purgatory. This year, in the midst of this pandemic, we encourage everyone to pray with us and offer our prayer intention for God’s abundant mercy on the souls of those who died from Covid-19.

Solemnity of All Saints Day

The Solemnity of All Saints (Nov. 1) is when the Church honors every saint: those officially known and honored on the Church calendar, and saints known only to God. On All Saints Day, we commemorate these holy individuals and ask for their prayers and intercessions. We especially raise our prayers to God with the help of our Patroness, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Month of the Holy Rosary

One with the whole Catholic Church, the Elizabeth Seton School celebrates the month of October as the Month of the Holy Rosary. Amidst the difficult time of this pandemic, we encourage everyone to pray the rosary, for the protection of the medical personnel, for the speedy recovery of those who suffered from the COVID-19, and for God’s abundant mercy on the souls of those who have died from this virus.

St. John Paull II said: “The Rosary has accompanied me in moment of joy and in moments of difficulty. To it I have entrusted any number of concerns; in it I have always found comfort. The Rosary is my favorite prayer. It is marvelous in its simplicity and its depth.”
