IN GOLD AND GREEN: The Borderless Steadfast Growth of Elizabeth Seton School An ideal educational institution is willing to adhere to perfection and is unafraid of change. Above all, it aims for growth and development. It spreads its wings and soars to realize its dreams, constant in its noble pursuit of molding the youth. Its history is a legend of excellence and success from a humble journey towards a single goal --- to provide the best holistic education for all. This is ELIZABETH SETON SCHOOL. Growing Voice. The Rise of Seton as a Catholic School In 1986, shortly after the tenth anniversary of Elizabeth Seton School, the construction of the modern preschool building in BF Resort Village, Las Piñas started. This site became the main campus of ESS. More buildings were constructed on the following years to house the growing student population. In the same year, ESS was proclaimed as a Catholic School. The Oblates of the Divine Love Community was sent by His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin (+) to assist ESS in the spiritual formation of its students. As a Catholic institution, a chapel was built to be the center of all the religious activities of the students. It was completed in 1989. The Franciscan Immaculatine Sisters replaced the Oblates of the Divine Love when they were called by the head community in Italy. Proclamation as a Center of Catholic Faith With the completion and blessing of the chapel in ESS Main Campus, the school was proclaimed a center of the Catholic faith for private sectarian schools through The Lord Dwells Among Us Foundation. In 2006, the construction of a beautiful chapel, which is solely dedicated to the greatest glory of God Almighty whose grand plan is the conservation of families through His ministry, started in ESS South Campus. Journey to Greatness and Progress. Seton’s Unceasing Desire to Improve Onward with its endeavor to become the country’s best learning institution, Elizabeth Seton School continued innovating its facilities and services for the students and teachers as well. The completion of the Student Services Building, Admissions Office, Testing Room and Business Office made the Administration’s operation and services more efficient. The following years were marked by the completion of the mini-Olympic-sized swimming pool, FBA auditorium, libraries, Cardinal William Square and the Science and Technology Building that provided the Setonians a better learning environment not just for the field of academics, but also in the field of sports and other extra-curricular activities. In 2005, a three-story building was built to accommodate a spacious canteen, state of the art covered court, dance room and band room. Seton’s concern for its teachers gave birth to the ESS Faculty and Staff Empowerment Collegiality Council (FASECC) and the ESS Credit Cooperative in 1992 and 1993, respectively. Achievements and Recognition. ESS Soars High In 1997, ESS passed the Level I PAASCU Accreditation for the Grade School and High School Units. In 2000 and 2003, the institution passed the Level II and Revisit PAASCU Accreditation for both Units as well. Aside from these, ESS received numerous citations and commendation from the Department of Education and other institutions because of the good performance of the school as well as its students. Dr. Suarez herself was awarded as the national winner of the Gintong Ilawan 2001, Teodora Alonzo Educator’s Award for the Most Outstanding Private Female Elementary Principal. On June 22, 2007, ESS-Main received the ISO 9001:2000 Certification for its efficient operations and services. On top of that, ESS was given the Testimonial Plaque from the Philippine National Red Cross for its fervent promotion of voluntary blood donation. Spreading Commitment to Excellence. The Birth of ESS-South The 22nd Foundation Year of Elizabeth Seton School was marked by the groundbreaking of the ESS South Campus located in Anabu II-D, Imus, Cavite. It opened in 1998 and continued the ESS mission of bringing quality education to the students as they mold them in the image of the institution’s patron Saint, Elizabeth Ann Seton. Today, ESS-South, just like the main campus, is a center of excellent education. It also has a wide range of facilities such as audiovisual rooms, libraries, mini-Olympic-sized swimming pool, auditorium and speech, computer and science laboratories. In 2005, ESS-South graduated its first batch of high school students. 2008 marks the 10th year celebration of ESS-South. ELIZABETH SETON SCHOOL. 30 Years of Borderless Progress From the simple beginnings of ESS way back in 1975, the school has grown into a very successful institution. True to its commitment, ESS shall uphold its Vision and continue its Mission in the years yet to come. Each Setonian possessing the virtues of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton shall be the living legacy of ESS bound to transcend time. |
